Terrell C. Madigan
I am a general practitioner; my clientele includes a diverse array of area businesses, governmental entities and individuals to whom I provide general counsel and advice, including preparation and negotiation of contracts, advice on employment, regulatory, intellectual property and other business law issues, as well as representation in civil disputes.
I represent individuals in the areas of estate planning and probate, elder law, real estate and family law. I have represented several trade and homeowner’s associations and serve as General Counsel for the Leon County Educational Facilities Authority, and as a special prosecutor and outside legal counsel for the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. I have represented clients in the area of campaign finance and elections law, having successfully argued before the Supreme Court of Florida to have certain provisions of the Florida Elections Code declared unconstitutional. In 2000, I represented one of the parties in several of the Presidential Election cases, in the trial courts and through the Florida and United States Supreme Courts.
I am a Certified Circuit Civil and County Court mediator, and a AAA trained arbitrator. I maintain an “AV” Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating which is the highest available rating.
I have lectured groups on matters of estate planning, risk management and intellectual property law. I have and continue to participate on several business, civic and government appointed boards, such as the Tallahassee 100 Club (past President), which is Tallahassee’s oldest business exchange group; legal advisor to and a past Chairman of the Committee of 99, a prominent law enforcement support organization; past Chairman of the Tallahassee YMCA; and a former District Governor for a national college fraternity.
I received my juris doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law, and undergraduate degree from Rollins College. I am a native Tallahasseean, married with three children.
